3 pictures

This picture is very well taken. This picture has meaning behind it. If the people were not positioned like this the picture would not work. Their bodies make a wave like image. i do not believe that this picture would work in color because then it would not give the dead look.

This image is one amazing picture. It shows amazing lines, shadows and and angle. This picture could work in color but I believe that it works better in black and white.

This picture is a very well done photograph. It shows lines, shadows, shapes and also architecture. I don't think that this picture would not have worked in color because it would not have the same shadow and silhouette effects to it.

I believe that this article is saying a lot that people do not really care about what is going on in the world. They people only care about what is going on in the own county. Why do people not understand that even though it is not effecting them and their county it is affecting other people in other countries and it is still important.

This image is of starving children with no clothes and probably little shelter from the weather. Not many people would know or care about these children. But yet if this were happening here in America or in your own town, everyone would care and know about what is going on.

The poster is showing a Hispanic person pointing as though they were to be Uncle Sam. This indicates that they think they have more power over the United States. Or maybe they are just thinking that it is wrong that we can go and do whatever we want in their lands but they cant come into ours for free.

I think that the designer of the poster had many good points and designed this poster perfectly. The poster gets the point across well and also shows the emotion of the people. It also shows what they think about the whole illegal alien idea.

Pg. 341 HW

1. Everyone in each of the posters is centered. This lets the viewer know the the poster is important. The ones of Uncle Sam and other pictures that are pointing are the ones that come out at you. The ones that draw you in are the ones of people standing there as if they were inviting you in with them. The ones with more serious facial expressions and more serious body positions are more meaningful and stand our as if they were really important. The designers were trying to get their own point across and get their goals accomplished through these posters.

2. You need to know what the people feel around you. You also need to know what to put on the poster that will effect the people as a nation and not just as an individual. This means you need to think of how the poster will effect the people so that they do not get upset or angry with the designers.

3. The posters would be different if they were actual pictures instead of paintings because then people would actually know that a true soldier wanted of needed their help instead of a cartoon. But also, this could mean the posters were more graphic and they wouldn't have the same effect on the people. It would make them more serious as opposed to more cartoon like.

1. The Wizard of Oz Poster was probably made around the 50's or 60's. The Buffalo Soldiers poster was probably made in the late 90's. The Vertigo poster was probably made around 30 years ago and the Matrix Revolution poster was probably made about 4 years ago.

2. The wizard of Oz is probably going to be a happy movie because everyone is really happy. Buffalo Soldiers look like a comedy. I think this because he doesn't look very serious with the ammo around his neck. Vertigo seems to me to be a sad/love movie. It seems this way because the people on the poster don't look very happy but yet they are hugging. The Matrix Revolution seems like an action movie. It looks like an action movie because they look serious and they have weapons.

3. I believe that the designer used the colors that they did to get the full effect of the poster. Colors help to get the point across and to help draw your attention to the poster.

4. In the first two the titles do not stand out so you look at the pictures first then follow the lines to the title and sub-titles. In the next to the titles stand out more which makes your eyes look at the title then follow them to the pictures.

5. The posters on the the following pages were made sometime during anyone of the wars. I can tell because they all say something relating to the wars that were going on at that time.

6. The way their uniforms are different indicate they are from another country. Also, some have facial feature that seem to be from other countries.

7. I believe the designers used the colors they did because the color brings out the full effect and emotion of the poster.

8. I believe each one has you look at the image first then read the text or the other way around. To get the full effect the designer wants you to see both the picture and the text to understand what the poster is about.

I believe that these pictures were taken to study the Native American ways of living. These pictures show the Native Americans hard at work and they show other views of what they look like and the way that they live. For example, the picture of the Natives face shows how they dressed themselves with piercings to express themselves. Also the picture of their homes shows how different they live from the rest of the world. I believe that if the world saw these pictures it might effect them in a way that they might have more respect for the Natives.

Women at work

The Common theme that all of the photographs have is women at work. Also in all of the photographs all of the women seem to be working in some sort of factory.

Rhetorical analysis

I Believe that the people who took the picture that we are analyzing were very concerned about that women that had to work. I think that they were trying to get the point out that women can work just as hard as men can. The photographer behind the picture might have hoped that the audience would believe that women really can work and eventually allow women to venture out and get jobs when the men got back from war. I think that the photography caught the women all when they were smiling on purpose. This shows that the women actually want to work and enjoy working.

Week 2 book work

Page 349

1. I believe that the photograph was taken in the mid twenties sometime around winter. The photography might have been taken somewhere in the downtown of New York City or maybe downtown Chicago.

2. The People in the photography might be a family but it looks more to me like they are just rich friends.

3. These people seem to have more wealthy lives. They seem to be very well off in life, wearing expensive fur clothing and all. It seems like they have very funny personalities. They seem to be having a good time.

4. This photography might have been taken to show the life of friends or family in the early times.

What helped me make my inferences about this photograph was the clothing and style of the people. The fur coats being worn by the women were usually worn by more wealthy women in the big cities. The black and white helps make it look older which is why I believe it was taken in the early twenties.

1. In the photographs the mothers are not really smiling. This makes it look as though they are unhappy with their children. Be careful to say that they are not happy with their lives or children because there is no way of telling whether or not they are happy or not.

1. Because sometimes the Place tells a lot more of a story that people would. The land shows more about the people and how they treat the place they live.

2. The Captions underneath the photographs help shape my responses because they tell what the place in the photographs is all about.

3. The panoramas work better than it would with a normal sized photograph because it spread the picture out letting you see the landscape more clearly, allowing you to get the whole perspective.

4. Black and white shows more of emotion to the polluted land than a normal color picture would. The black and white kind of represents sadness.

5. You are set up to feel as though you are there in the picture. The panoramas helps to bring you into the picture.
